An evening at Assam Brahmaputra river.

Brahmaputra River is one of the most majestic rivers I have encountered. It is one of the 9th largest, and the 15th longest river in the world. It is sometimes known as the “Red River due to its high concentration of red and yellow soil sediments, producing the color red.

My itinerary during the visit to the Assam Brahmaputra river was: firstly, by booking the river cruise as per the selected timing. So, I booked a seat at Alfresco Grand, for a sunset view package from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm which made us tour the bank of the Brahmaputra river followed by the Umananda Temple and the view of the sunset and the chill breezes made more pleasant and scenic. This cruise has different packages at different prices, has a bar, plays live music, folk dance, and buffets.

Umananda Temple:

Umananda Devaloi is a Shiva temple located at Peacock Island in the middle of the river Brahmaputra in Guwahati. It was known to be built by the Ahom King Gadadhar Singha (1681–1696), who was a devout Shaivaite. It is known as the smallest inhabited serene riverine island in the world. Country boats that are available on the bank of Brahmaputra take visitors to the island. The mountain on which the temple was built is known as “Bhasmacala”.

Sunset View:

Spending time near the coast of this river and having a cruise ride during the golden hour will be one of my best memories.

The sunset view was the most beautiful thing I would ever enjoy. One hour on a river cruise of the Brahmaputra river is worth it to end your day so peacefully by watching the serene beauty of nature, nothing else can beat the moment I spent enjoying the sun going down, the view was splendid.

Hope this helps you plan for this river cruise ride for your next vacation to Assam.
